Description

We are delighted to introduce to the market an opportunity to purchase a property in need of renovation and modernisation in a prime location in Clifden town. This house is located within a stone’s throw of all of the town’s amenities and supermarkets.

This is a three storey house and accommodation comprises of a large kitchen/dining area/living room and a small front room that looks onto the street on the ground floor.  There are three bedrooms located on the first floor and roof space.

To the rear of the property there is a small yard and a small shed which houses the washing machine etc.

Clifden town situated on the edge of the wild Atlantic way was founded in 1818 and  is the renowned capital of Connemara, nestled between the foothills of the Twelve Bens mountain range and the indomitable Atlantic Ocean, right on the tip of Europe. Clifden is a thriving hive of activity, synonymous with its annual Art’s Festival which is held every September.

Amenities:

Clifden is host to many amenities including both a primary and secondary school, doctors’ surgeries, nursing home, grocery stores and hospital. There is a great selection of restaurants and eateries.

Apart from the arts, musical, and sailing scene, there are also many wonderful sights to behold in Clifden, including the world famous ‘Sky Road’ which is a wonderful loop drive on an elevated road which looks out over vast views of the Atlantic Ocean and Connemara Coastline.

The ruins of Clifden Castle can also be seen from this road, which was the home to Clifden’s town founder John Darcy in the 1800’s. To explore the castle ruins, one can access them from a scenic coastal stroll from Clifden Beach.

Clifden offers a wonderful range of shops and one can also rent bikes from a number of vendors in the town to explore the surrounding area, or the Connemara Greenway, which is undergoing construction at the moment. Currently, there are circa 20 kilometres of the Greenway Completed, which is a beautiful walking/cycling trail that follows the original tracks of the old Clifden to Galway train tracks-a journey our ancestors would have travelled many years ago. The Greenway is a surfaced track which roams through the Connemara countryside and will eventually reach Galway City.
